U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has issued a specific license and authorized us “to engage in all transactions necessary to facilitate and pay for public opinion polling in Iran.”

While IranPoll has been fully capable and authorized to collect data on Iranian public opinion from outside of Iran, it was aware that some research topics and designs require in-country data collection. IranPoll was also aware that many potential clients in need of reliable survey data from Iran were hesitant to seek opinion research services because of concerns over U.S. sanction laws and fears that such data collection may be at odds with the U.S. Treasury Department regulations.

Therefore in June 2015, People Analytics Inc., where IranPoll is a subsidiary, requested a specific license from the U.S. Treasury Department to conduct opinion research projects and to collect public opinion data from Iran. On September 4, 2015, U.S. Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) issued People Analytics Inc. with a specific license and authorized it “to engage in all transactions necessary to facilitate and pay for public opinion polling in Iran.”

This license allows IranPoll to use local Iranian non-governmental entities to conduct a wide range of opinion research projects and to utilize local capabilities to best address the research needs of its clients. The licenses also allows U.S. persons and entities in need of reliable survey data to use our opinion research services with ease of mind.
